| GIS & Data Management Methods
Within 48 h of each collection event, copies of completed collection forms are archived at VCU. Data from original field sheets, including location, fish and macroinvertebrate assemblages, and habitat information, are entered into the appropriate SQL databases, which are supported by VCU Academic Computing and are automatically backed-up daily. Data entry activities are conducted under the supervision of the Center’s data manager (W. Shuart). VCU personnel resample a subset of INSTAR sites to assess intra-annual variability. A formal QAPP (Chaloud and Peck 1994) has been developed and approved by US EPA Region III and is distributed to all VCU personnel involved in the project prior to data collection. |
